Race day

Well, it was a good day all round last Saturday, despite the wet weather. I left home at 7am to meet with a work colleague. We then traveled to Maidstone to meet with 2 other teams entering the triathlon and traveled to the Excel Centre in London by minibus. We arrived at about 10:30 am. It was then just a case of hanging around until 1:30pm when the race started. Being the last to go in the 5k run, it was gone 2:30pm before I did my bit.
I really enjoyed the day out. It was pretty tiring with the traveling and all. I'd certainly do it again. Apparently, the Mazda London Triathlon is one of the largest events of its kind in the world. There were heats of competitors (around 300 at a time) starting approximately every hour for all day Saturday and all day Sunday. That makes thousands of competitors for the whole weekend! There's an amazing atmosphere with so many people around on the day.

I was pretty tired at work yesterday. In fact, it was a bit of a come down after the high on Saturday. I'm still a bit tired today. Things should even out ok eventually though.

Thanks to those who sponsored me. The "Just Giving" page is still open to accept donations for a while yet if anybody wishes to help support our clients.
