A little mirth
A jounalist visited a very remote and devout monastry of monks in an attempt to understand the quiet life they lead. On interviewing the Monsignor he asked about the work carried out, in particular the continuous copying of religious text by hand. "This ceremony has been carried out for thousands of years" said the Monsignor. "But, what if, down the years, copying from a copy, a previous monk had made a mistake in the text? How can you be sure that what is written is authentic?" The Monsignor thought for a moment and then revealed "Well, we have the very orginal text kept in the sacred bowels of this Monastery, I will check".
The jounalist left and promised to return in a fortnight. Upon his return, all the monks were very concerned. "We have not seen the Monsignor since you left, he has been down below alone with the sacred text all the time and has not emerged." The journalist demanded to go down see Monsignor and found him with those text spread aound him. The poor Monsignor was sobbing inconsolably. "What's the matter?" asked the Journalist.
The Monsignor replied "The word was CELEBRATE!"
